Protest: No formal request for Eagle Square usage, says Wike

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike announced on Saturday that his office has not received a formal letter requesting the use of Eagle Square for the #EndBadGovernance protest planned for August 1.

During a town hall meeting with key stakeholders in the FCT, Wike emphasized that organizers should not rely solely on social media for communication but should follow proper procedures.

Reiterating his stance against the protest, Wike said, “For those who want to protest on the 1st, the FCT is not available for such protests,” urging residents to refrain from participating.

The meeting included FCT Minister of State Mariya Mahmoud, area council chairmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political party representatives, and women and youth groups.
