Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on young Nigerians to cultivate contentment, patience and integrity, urging them to avoid desperation in their pursuit of success.
She gave the advice on Friday while receiving members of the National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress at the State House in Abuja, where she also donated nine buses to support the group’s activities.
The First Lady’s remarks were contained in a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi.
Addressing the youth leaders, Senator Tinubu encouraged them to remain committed to hard work and avoid becoming satisfied with small achievements while striving for greater success.
She noted that many young people are often impatient, stressing that they should trust God’s timing rather than rush into decisions driven by the desire for quick success.
According to her, learning contentment is an important virtue that would help young people build meaningful and lasting achievements instead of depending on others.
Drawing inspiration from the eagle, the First Lady urged the youths to develop resilience and maintain a positive outlook even during difficult times.
She explained that, like the eagle which rises above storms, young people should overcome challenges through determination and focus rather than comparing themselves with others or seeking what belongs to someone else.
Senator Tinubu also commended the APC National Youth Wing for promoting unity within the ruling party and strengthening its grassroots presence across the country.

She urged the youth leaders to remain committed to advancing the achievements and policies of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“As one of the arms of the ruling party, with a mandate to carry the banner of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, its members and leaders must show resilience and deep commitment to a tomorrow built on hope,” she said.
To enhance the youth wing’s operations, the First Lady presented nine brand-new buses to the APC National Youth Leader, Deputy National Youth Leader, zonal youth leaders and the Federal Capital Territory leadership for use in party activities and community outreach.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, thanked the First Lady for the donation, describing it as a major boost to the youth wing’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the buses would strengthen the group’s capacity to engage communities, support electoral mobilisation and expand initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
Israel also expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that many of the youth leaders arrived at the event without official vehicles but were leaving with new buses to support their responsibilities within the party.
