Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women in leadership positions to redouble their efforts in supporting and mentoring younger women to achieve economic empowerment and social advancement.
Speaking on Friday when the Forum of Female Chief Executives of Government Agencies and Organizations paid her a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Tinubu described the CEOs as trailblazers who must “replicate themselves” in the next generation.
“Birth yourselves in others. Look for them to mentor. Replicate yourself in other women and that is the way we would be strong. Make yourselves unforgettable by the things you do outside your office,” the First Lady told the delegation.
She reminded the group of the legacy of iconic matriarchs such as Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Margaret Ekpo, Gambo Sawaba, and Abibat Mogaji, stressing that the current generation of women leaders must unite and surpass those achievements.
On her call for partnership in completing the National Library, the First Lady explained that the project would serve as a lifeline for indigent students across the country.

“As a group, Your Excellency, we do not take our mandates lightly and are sincerely grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for deeming us fit to hold our respective offices. We are here to pledge our support to your office and the Renewed Hope agenda,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
She added that the CEOs are determined to strengthen women’s inclusion, ensure women’s voices are heard, and support initiatives that uplift and empower women nationwide.
A total of 24 female CEOs heading various government agencies and organizations attended the meeting.
