Reps Member Muhammad Hassan Dies, Burial Set For Today

A member of the House of Representatives representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency of Kano State, Muhammad Hassan, has died at the age of 66.

Hassan died on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Abuja after a brief illness, according to an official statement issued by the spokesman of the House, Akin Rotimi Jr., on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Until his death, he served as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, where he was actively involved in legislative review, legal drafting, and oversight of judicial matters.

Elected in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, the late lawmaker was regarded within parliamentary circles for his depth in legislative counsel and his contributions to strengthening constitutional and lawmaking processes.

The House of Representatives described his death as a significant loss to the National Assembly, his constituents, and the country, noting that his expertise and institutional knowledge would be greatly missed.

Condolences have been extended to his family, political associates, and the government and people of Kano State.

He is expected to be buried on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in line with Islamic rites.
