A Russian overnight drone strike on Kharkiv has left three people dead, among them a child, and injured at least 18 others, Ukrainian officials confirmed on Monday.
Regional police reported on Telegram that the attack struck a five-storey apartment building, warning that some residents may still be trapped beneath the rubble.
“As of now, three people are known to have died, including a small child. Eighteen people were wounded, including children,” the statement read.
The strike came just hours after the city was also hit by a ballistic missile, which Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said wounded at least 11 people.
Elsewhere, in the Sumy region near the Russian border, a bomb followed by a drone attack left two civilians wounded early Monday, according to regional military chief Oleg Grygorov.
The victims were identified as a 57-year-old woman and a 43-year-old driver.

The latest wave of strikes coincides with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s trip to Washington, where he is set to meet with European allies and U.S. leaders to rally support for ending the war.
Ahead of Zelensky’s arrival, U.S. President Donald Trump ruled out Ukraine reclaiming Crimea or pursuing NATO membership — positions Kyiv has long resisted.
Zelensky has repeatedly dismissed suggestions of conceding territory to Russia, which currently controls about 20 percent of Ukraine.
Moscow, meanwhile, has pushed proposals for Ukraine to withdraw from Donbas in exchange for freezing the frontline around Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, where Kyiv still maintains control of key cities.
The renewed escalation underscores Russia’s continued advances in eastern Ukraine, even as diplomatic efforts intensify abroad.
