Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has been conferred as the Grand Patron of the Bodex Social Media Hangout (BSMH) initiative.
The recognition came during a courtesy visit by the BSMH team, led by its Convener, Bodex Hungbo, to the Governor’s Office in Alausa, Ikeja, ahead of the sixth edition of the annual event themed “Social Media and A.I Influence: Transforming Yourself, Services, and the Society.”
Hungbo commended the Governor for his administration’s consistent support for media innovation and youth-focused initiatives in Lagos, noting that his digital-forward governance model and citizen engagement have positioned the state as a leader in Africa’s digital transformation.
In his response, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as the heartbeat of innovation and creativity, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that amplify voices, shape narratives, and encourage responsible digital engagement.

The Governor also received an official invitation to serve as Keynote Speaker at the grand finale of BSMH 6.0, where he will be presented with the “Most Digital Media Friendly Governor of the Year” award for his contributions to digital governance and transparency.
Sanwo-Olu thanked the organizers for the honour and pledged continued partnership with the media community to foster responsible social media use, digital literacy, and youth empowerment across Lagos State.
