A joint security team, including vigilantes, has eliminated Maigemu, the notorious leader of the Lakurawa terrorist group, during an intense operation in Kebbi State.
AbdulRahman Usman Zagga, the Director of Security at the Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, confirmed the development to journalists on Friday, March 7.
He stated that Maigemu was killed on Thursday in Kuncin Baba, Arewa Local Government Area, following a fierce gun battle with security operatives.
The operation came just a week after Governor Nasir Idris visited Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities to console residents, where six people had been killed by the same terrorist group.

He also called on residents to collaborate with security agencies by sharing intelligence and reporting any suspicious activities to help restore lasting peace in the state.
