Security operatives have successfully rescued 10 commuters who were abducted along the Ochadamu–Anyigba Road in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The victims were kidnapped on August 11 near Ugbakpedo village, prompting a joint rescue mission involving police officers, vigilantes, and local hunters.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Thursday, the breakthrough came in the early hours of August 13 at about 4:30 a.m..
The statement added that during an intensive bush combing operation aided by the use of tear gas, the kidnappers abandoned their captives and fled.

“All 10 victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families,” the statement read.
Authorities have also confirmed that further bush combing operations are still ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
