Sen Abiru, Tinubu, Sylva, others grace $2.5b Dangote fertiliser plant inauguration

Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, was one of the dignitaries at the inauguration of the Dangote Fertiliser Plant in Ibeju- Lekki, Lagos.

Abiri, who currently represents Lagos East Senatorial District, joined other eminent personalities, including the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan; House of Representatives Speaker, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timpre Syva, to witness the historic event.

Others who also attended include: Minster of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnibe Mamora; former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Olawale Edun; Senator Olamilekan Adeola, Senator Adamu Aliero, captains of industries, religious leaders and first class monarchs, among others.

President Muhammadu Buhari, formally inaugurated the $2.5billion fertiliser plant reputed to be the largest in Africa. The plant capacity is 3 Million Tonnes of Urea Per Year.

After the inauguration of the fertiliser plant, Dangote Group President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote , in company with President Buhari and other dignitaries, led the tour of the expansive Dangote Refinery, which has the capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
