Senator Jang Rejects Defection Rumours, Affirms PDP Loyalty

Senator Jonah Jang, former Governor of Plateau State, has dismissed reports linking him to a defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to either the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In a statement released on Sunday through his media aide, Clinton Garuba, Jang described the claims as “false” and reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, a party he helped to establish.

The statement emphasized that Jang “remains committed to the party that has long represented the pride of the Nigerian people” and expressed confidence that ongoing legal proceedings will resolve internal party disputes, restoring PDP’s leadership position in national politics.

“Senator Jang believes the PDP will overcome its challenges and reclaim its prominence in the Nigerian political landscape,” the statement added.

The clarification comes amid circulating social media speculation suggesting he had joined the ADC or SDP.
