Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has issued a highly satirical apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio via posts on her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts. The apology, laden with sarcasm, addresses perceived expectations of compliance and challenges to her legislative role.
In a letter titled “SATIRICAL APOLOGY LETTER,” Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan apologizes “for the grievous crime of possessing dignity and self-respect.” She writes of her “unforgivable failure to recognize that legislative success in certain quarters is apparently not earned through merit, but through the ancient art of compliance – of the very personal kind.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan further states her “remiss” in not understanding that her refusal to indulge “requests” was not merely a personal choice, “but a constitutional violation of the unwritten laws of certain men’s entitlement.”

She apologizes for prioritizing competence over capitulation, vision over vanity, and the people’s mandate over private dinners.
The Senator acknowledges the “catastrophic consequences” of her actions, including delayed legislation and bruised egos. She concludes by stating her continued resistance, identifying herself as “Unafraid, Unbought, and Unbroken.”
The tone throughout the posts is one of pointed sarcasm, implying criticism of the Senate President and the perceived transactional nature of Nigerian politics.
