Seven Killed in Nasarawa Gunmen Attack as Police Launch Investigation

In a tragic incident, seven people were killed in a gunmen attack on Saturday night in Tatara village, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the development to Channels Television.

According to SP Nansel, the police received a distress call about the attack, prompting swift action.

The Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, led a detachment of police operatives to the scene.

Upon arrival, seven corpses were recovered, and the assailants were trailed, resulting in the recovery of nine abandoned motorcycles.

The Commissioner of Police convened an emergency stakeholders’ meeting, where he expressed his condolences to the families affected by the attack.

He also assured the community of a comprehensive investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Police operatives have since been deployed to the area to restore peace and provide security.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule is scheduled to visit the affected community to assess the situation and offer support to the grieving families.

This attack has left the residents of Tatara village in mourning, as the community grapples with the aftermath of the violent incident.

The authorities have called for calm, assuring that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of residents.
