Mahdi Shehu has faulted First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, accusing her of displaying animosity toward Muslims in Northern Nigeria amid reports linking her to comments on United States military operations in the region.
In a post shared on X on Tuesday, the 10th of February, 2026, Shehu said the alleged remarks only reinforced long-held perceptions about the First Lady within certain circles.
“If indeed Pastor Remi said so, then it means what many people are saying about her and the conclusions in many circles are either true or confirmed,” he wrote.
He argued that a growing number of Northern Muslims now regard Mrs Tinubu as someone openly opposed to their faith, alleging that she shows little remorse over violence and suffering affecting Muslim populations.
“That she can go all along to inflict deep-seated injuries to Muslims without feeling any sense of guilt,” he said.
Shehu further condemned what he described as her attitude whenever tragedies strike predominantly Muslim communities, insisting that such responses suggest indifference.
According to him, Islam will continue to thrive in Nigeria irrespective of who occupies political office or the involvement of foreign military forces.
“Up to the time of her death, exit from the villa, her post-villa life, there will always be Muslims in Nigeria practising Islam,” he stated.
“Even if Trump continues to bomb and decimate Northern Nigeria with Muslims as targets, there will still be Muslims among the Yoruba‘s, igbo’s, ijaws etc practicing Islam.

“And even without Trump’s hypocritical protection of Christians in Nigeria, there will always be christians practicing Christianity, because that is how God created and structure Nigerian and nobody can question the wisdom therein.
“We urge Trump to please send more bombs to Northern Nigeria so that the RCCG madam can have some peace of Mind which he seems desperate for now.”
The comments followed media reports claiming that Mrs Tinubu had described the U.S. military strikes ordered by President Donald Trump on Christmas Day as a blessing, while expressing expectations of further cooperation.
She was said to have made the remarks during an interview with Fox News while visiting the United States after attending the National Prayer Breakfast hosted by Trump.
