The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has expressed delight over the progress and performance of 100 young women currently participating in the first phase of the ‘Anambra Skilled Ladies Training Programme’, describing it as a step toward self-reliance and entrepreneurial transformation.
The initiative, which was launched in March, is a vocational empowerment scheme aimed at equipping women across Anambra State with practical skills in fields traditionally dominated by men.
It is being implemented under her “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative” and is designed to break occupational stereotypes while promoting economic independence through technical training.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the first lady said the ongoing five-week intensive practical training has already begun to yield positive results, noting that the participants are being equipped with both skills and an entrepreneurial foundation to improve their livelihoods.
She also commended the dedication shown by the trainees and expressed optimism about their future outcomes.

According to her, “It’s been five weeks of intensive practical classes for the ‘Anambra Skilled Ladies Programme’.
What thrills me most about this novel exercise is the passion, dedication and meticulousness that these amazing ladies have invested in every task, however daunting.
I am pleased with how far we have come in this great vision. Soon, these ladies — who began this journey out of sheer passion — would be graduating with the kind of quality and experience that will transform their lives forever.
“The future is bright on this side. These women are the real changemakers.”
The programme focuses on four key technical areas: Solar and CCTV Installation and Repairs, Air Conditioner Repair and Maintenance, Tricycle (Keke) Repair, and Painting.
