‘Some Aren’t Mine’: Diamond Platnumz Opens Up on Fatherhood

Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has sparked fresh conversation across East Africa following a candid revelation about his journey through fatherhood — and the uncertainties surrounding it.

In a recent interview, the award-winning artist disclosed that he has conducted DNA testing on some of the children he is raising and discovered that not all of them may be biologically his.

“Well, first of all, I know I do have kids,” he said.

“But I also know that some are not my kids. But I don’t want to argue with the mother and all that. I still take care of them.”

Diamond, born Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, is widely known not just for his music but also for his public relationships and blended family dynamics.

Despite the DNA findings, he emphasized that he maintains emotional and financial support for all his children and a peaceful relationship with their mothers.

“Sometimes their men get mad at me, thinking maybe we have something going on,” he added. “No, we don’t. We just decided to be cool.”

His openness has received mixed reactions online. While some have praised him for his maturity and continued responsibility, others have raised questions about trust, paternity, and family transparency in high-profile relationships.

The interview adds a complex layer to public discourse around fatherhood, co-parenting, and the role of DNA in defining parental responsibilities in modern African society.
