The Franco-Malian coach’s decision comes amid ongoing talks with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over a contract extension and rising interest from clubs and national teams abroad.
Since taking charge of the Super Eagles in January 2025, Chelle has guided Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s most promising coaches.
