Super Falcons Eye 11th WAFCON Title, Nnadozie Confident

Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has assured that the Super Falcons are not feeling any pressure as they prepare to defend their title at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Nigerian side, under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, will be chasing a record-extending 11th WAFCON crown when the tournament kicks off in Morocco next month.

Drawn in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, as well as Zambia and Egypt, the Super Falcons will open their campaign against Malawi in Casablanca on March 18.

Nnadozie acknowledged the challenges of winning a major continental tournament but emphasized that the team is ready to rise to the occasion.

“We are not under any pressure at all. We’ve worked so hard over the years to be where we are today.

There are so many teams working hard to be in this position, and respect to all of them. But there’s no pressure,” she told the Super Falcons media team.

The WAFCON 2026 finals will run from 17 March to 3 April, with the four semi-finalists earning qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
