Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Nigeria women’s national football team, produced a spirited comeback to defeat the Cameroon women’s national football team 3-1 in the second leg of their international friendly clash in Yaoundé.
The victory comes just days after the Indomitable Lionesses edged the first leg encounter by a lone goal, handing the Falcons a narrow defeat on home soil.
Cameroon struck early in the return fixture, taking the lead in the 7th minute to momentarily put the Nigerians on the back foot. However, the Super Falcons responded with composure and attacking intent.
Forward Chiwendu Ihezuo restored parity in the 32nd minute, finishing off a well-worked move to level proceedings before halftime.
The momentum shifted fully in Nigeria’s favour just 11 minutes later when Rinsola Babajide found the back of the net in the 43rd minute, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead going into the break.
The Falcons maintained their dominance in the second half, controlling possession and limiting Cameroon’s attacking threats.
