Tension Deepens in Kwara as Terrorists Abduct Pregnant Woman, Children in Isapa

Tension has once again gripped communities in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State after armed terrorists launched a fresh assault on Isapa town, carting away multiple residents, including a pregnant woman, children, and nursing mothers.

The attack, which occurred around 6pm on Monday, November 24, 2025, has thrown the community into mourning and uncertainty.

Witnesses said between 20 and 30 heavily armed bandits stormed Isapa, advancing with a herd of cattle and firing shots indiscriminately as villagers fled for safety.

According to reports by National Pilot, an elderly woman was hit by a stray bullet during the invasion.

A community leader, who confirmed the incident, said no fewer than 11 persons were abducted — seven of them from the same family.

Those taken include: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat, Fatima Yusufu, Sarah Sunday (pregnant woman), Lami Fidelis (nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.

Residents said the gunmen moved from one cluster of homes to another, leaving behind shattered doors, bullet-ridden walls, and expended AK-47 shells littering the streets.

The attackers later fled through bush paths, disappearing into the surrounding forests.

The latest incident comes just days after Eruku, a neighbouring community, suffered a similar assault.

Terrorists had invaded a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) during a meeting, killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the pastor.

Witnesses in Eruku recalled how the gunmen burst into the church and opened fire without warning.

“They came in suddenly and started shooting. Three people were killed instantly,” a source told SaharaReporters. “They forced others out at gunpoint and marched them into the bush. We still cannot confirm how many were taken.”

The recurring attacks have sparked fear across communities in Kwara’s hinterlands, with residents pleading for urgent government intervention to prevent further tragedy.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the latest abduction.
