Threat Letter Preceded Fire in Iyabo Ojo’s Office, Daughter Reveals

Gladness Gideon

Authorities are investigating a suspected arson attack at the Lagos office of popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, after a threatening letter—delivered weeks earlier—resurfaced amid growing safety concerns.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, has sparked outrage following the emergence of a disturbing letter, warning of impending harm and referencing plans to disrupt a family wedding. The message, signed by an anonymous group calling itself the “Aggrieved Group,” made direct threats targeting the actress and her daughter, vowing to monitor them over a three-month period and to sabotage the daughter’s marriage.

According to details shared via the Instagram story of Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, the letter was initially delivered to the actress’s office on May 24—ironically, the same property that was gutted by fire weeks later. At the time of the delivery, Iyabo Ojo was traveling to Tanzania for her daughter’s wedding and did not get a chance to read the letter until her return.

The threatening message read in part:

“You put someone in trouble and you out enjoying giving out your daughter in marriage … You can’t escape in the next 3 months as we are out monitoring you.”

Priscilla described the development as “a threat to life and a strategy to ruin JP2025,” referring to what appears to be the family’s wedding or anniversary code.

She further alleged that the fire outbreak may have been a follow-up act after the threat failed to prevent the wedding from taking place.

“This is not just an attack on property; it’s a deliberate attempt to silence my mother and destabilize our family. But God is stronger than any evil, and time will surely tell,” she stated.

She also confirmed that CCTV surveillance has been reinforced at both the family’s residence and the office, adding that efforts are underway to trace the individual who delivered the letter.

The Lagos State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the matter as of press time, but a senior officer who requested anonymity confirmed that an investigation has been launched into both the fire and the contents of the threat letter.

The incident has prompted widespread concern among fans and industry colleagues, many of whom have called for a thorough investigation and enhanced security around the actress and her family.
