Three Women Killed as Communal Clash Rocks Adamawa

Barely two weeks after Governor Ahmadu Fintiri hosted a peace dinner in Yola aimed at ending tensions, violence has flared again between the Bachama and Chobo communities in Lamurde Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The latest incident occurred on Saturday, when three women from the Chobo community were reportedly killed while working on their farms.

The attack has heightened fears of renewed communal clashes in the area, undermining recent peace efforts by the state government.

The Adamawa Police Command Spokesman Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, said the victims were allegedly attacked by suspected Bachaman militias around Tigno village.

“The Adamawa State Police Command has swiftly responded to the renewed Lamurde tribal conflict between the Bachama and Chobo communities, leading to the killing of three women and the apprehension of two suspects,” Nguroje said.
