Fashion entrepreneur and style icon Tiannah’s Empire has expressed concern over the worsening economic hardship and rising insecurity in Nigeria, warning that the situation could push more people toward criminal activities if urgent measures are not taken.
In a post shared via her Instagram page on Thursday, the celebrity stylist lamented the increasing level of hunger across the country, stating that business owners and employers now face a greater risk of theft from employees and those around them due to the harsh economic realities.
“There’s no way your staff or anyone won’t steal from you this time. Something must be done urgently because people may soon start breaking into each other’s houses,” she wrote.
Tiannah’s comments reflect growing public anxiety over the rising cost of living, inflation, unemployment, and the economic challenges facing many Nigerians.

Her remarks suggest that worsening hardship could lead to an increase in petty crimes and other security concerns if adequate interventions are not implemented.
The fashion entrepreneur’s statement has since sparked reactions on social media, with many users agreeing that hunger and economic difficulties have become major drivers of insecurity across the country.
Others, however, argued that while economic hardship is real, criminal acts should not be justified under any circumstances.
Her post adds to a growing list of concerns being raised by public figures, celebrities, and civil society groups regarding the impact of Nigeria’s economic challenges on ordinary citizens and the potential consequences for public safety.
The development comes amid ongoing debates about the effectiveness of government policies aimed at easing hardship and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
While authorities continue to insist that economic reforms will yield long-term benefits, many citizens have continued to voice concerns over the immediate impact on households and businesses.
