Tinubu Arrives Abu Dhabi for Global Sustainability Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit, a global forum focused on sustainable development, climate action, clean energy and economic diversification.

The president was received late Sunday by senior officials of the United Arab Emirates, including Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The annual event brings together world leaders, policymakers, investors and technology experts to discuss solutions to global sustainability challenges.

The 2026 ADSW Summit is scheduled to hold from January 11 to January 15, 2026, under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” with discussions centred on climate resilience, energy transition, innovation, financing and inclusive growth.

During the summit, Tinubu is expected to participate in high-level engagements aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s partnerships in renewable energy, climate finance, sustainable infrastructure and investment opportunities.

The visit aligns with the administration’s broader push to position Nigeria as an active participant in global sustainability efforts while attracting foreign investment to support economic growth and environmental objectives.
