President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abuja at about 1:20 am on Thursday, August 28, concluding a productive three-day state visit to Brazil aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and boosting Nigeria’s economic partnerships.
He was welcomed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by a high-level delegation, including Governors Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara).
Also present were Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Ministers Nyesom Wike (FCT), Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Budget and Economic Planning), and Bello Matawalle (Defence, State).

Tinubu reassured investors of a stable and transparent financial climate, citing Nigeria’s capital market growth as evidence of renewed confidence. He also engaged with Nigerians in Brazil, urging them to support nation-building efforts.
“We must bring Nigeria to the forefront of Africa’s progress, driven by technology, food sovereignty, and the courage to change our destiny,” he told the gathering.
The visit, marked by red-carpet receptions, high-level meetings with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and cultural exchanges, was described by both leaders as a new chapter in Nigeria–Brazil relations.
Tinubu’s trip followed his participation in the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).
