Tinubu Felicitates Akpabio at 63, Hails “Uncommon” Leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent warm birthday wishes to Senate President Godswill Akpabio as he turns 63, applauding what he described as Akpabio’s “uncommon” leadership and enduring commitment to public service.

In a congratulatory message released on December 9, Tinubu reflected on Akpabio’s long political career, saying it has been marked by resilience, experience and a deep understanding of Nigeria’s democratic system.

The president noted that Akpabio’s journey from his years as governor of Akwa Ibom State to his current position as head of the National Assembly speaks to his capacity to lead and work across political divides.

Tinubu commended the senate president for providing steady guidance in the 10th National Assembly, particularly at a time when the country is pursuing far-reaching economic and social reforms.

He said Akpabio’s leadership has helped strengthen cooperation between the executive and legislature in the national interest.

The president expressed confidence that Akpabio would continue to play a stabilising role in the legislature, supporting laws and policies aimed at national development.

Tinubu also wished Akpabio good health, wisdom and renewed strength as he marks another year and continues his service to the nation.

Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta affairs, assumed office as senate president following the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in June 2023.
