Tinubu Honours Nonagenarian Industrialist Samuel Adedoyin on 90th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to veteran industrialist and philanthropist, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, as the founder of the Doyin Group of Companies marks his 90th birthday, describing him as “an extraordinary Nigerian whose life embodies vision, discipline and generosity.”

In a statement issued from the State House on Thursday, Tinubu celebrated Adedoyin’s remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing sector, praising him as a national icon whose decades-long enterprise helped shape the country’s industrial landscape.

“Prince Adedoyin stands as one of Nigeria’s finest examples of industry, resilience, and patriotic commitment,” the President said, commending the nonagenarian for building businesses that created opportunities for countless citizens. He noted that the industrialist’s journey—rooted in determination, faith, and integrity—remains a powerful testament to what is possible within Nigeria.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Tinubu highlighted Adedoyin’s enduring philanthropy, including his devotion to education, community development and support for the vulnerable. These, he said, have carved out a legacy that extends well beyond boardrooms and factories.

The President also reflected on the businessman’s early years in Lagos, where he arrived as a teenager from Agbamu in Kwara State. Over the last seven decades, Tinubu said, Adedoyin has become “a respectable part of the state’s social and economic fabric,” while maintaining deep ties to his hometown.

Tinubu described his personal relationship with the celebrant as warm and longstanding, adding that he deeply admires Adedoyin’s strength of character in navigating adversity and personal loss.

“As Baba Adedoyin marks this remarkable milestone, I celebrate his purposeful and impactful life as a cherished leader whose wisdom continues to enrich our society,” Tinubu said, praying for his continued grace, peace, and joy.

The President welcomed the industrialist into what he fondly called “the grand club of nonagenarians,” concluding his tribute with: “Happy 90th Birthday, Baba!”
