President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday arrived in Owerri, the Imo State capital, for a one-day working visit aimed at inaugurating major infrastructure projects and participating in a book presentation.
The presidential jet touched down at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport at exactly 12:52 p.m., where the President was received by Governor Hope Uzodimma and top government officials.
During the visit, Tinubu is expected to commission a number of completed projects, including the 60-kilometre dual carriage Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Federal Road, the Assumpta Flyover, and the 6,000-seat Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre.
The facilities were executed by the Uzodimma administration as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and boost economic activities in the state.
The President will also attend the unveiling of Governor Uzodimma’s new book, A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria, which chronicles the All Progressives Congress’ governance record and Nigeria’s democratic strides over the past ten years.

Ahead of the trip, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the visit would highlight the collaborative efforts of federal and state governments in delivering modern infrastructure.
He listed other projects lined up for commissioning, such as the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel and the Imo Digital Learning Centre.
According to Onanuga, “These projects underscore the shared commitment of the Federal and State Governments to infrastructure renewal, modernisation, and sustainable development.”
