Tinubu Rewards Super Falcons with National Honours, $100k Cash, Houses

President Bola Tinubu has honoured Nigeria’s Super Falcons with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) following their historic triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Speaking during a reception at the Presidential Villa on Monday, July 28, Tinubu praised the team and technical crew for displaying “an indomitable spirit of resilience, determination and courage,” adding that their victory brought pride to the nation.

Each of the 24 players was awarded the naira equivalent of $100,000, while the 11-man technical crew received $50,000 each.

The President also allocated a three-bedroom flat to each player and crew member at the newly built Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja, in recognition of their service to the nation.

“Your victory couldn’t have been more historic,” Tinubu told the team, as he called on all Nigerians to continue supporting women’s football and national unity through sports.
