President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly on Friday, December 19, 2025.
Ahead of the presentation, the Presidency will notify lawmakers with a formal communication to be read during Thursday’s plenary at the House of Representatives.
This step officially triggers the legislative process for the proposed budget.
The bill will detail the federal government’s planned spending across critical sectors, including infrastructure, health, education, security, and social services, as well as projected revenue and borrowing requirements for the year.
