Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Logistics Supplier, Recover 150 Military Boots In Zamfara

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier and recovered a large cache of military-grade equipment during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Sokoto–Gusau Road in Zamfara State.

According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst, Zagagola Magama on Thursday, the suspect was intercepted on June 24 while driving a Honda Civic vehicle conveying military-related items and electronic devices suspected to be meant for terrorist groups operating in the North-West.

Items recovered from the vehicle included 150 pairs of combat boots, three jackknives, three electric shockers, one tear gas canister, one military beret and one belt.

The troops also confiscated two Android phones, one iPad and a digital wristwatch believed to be relevant to ongoing investigations.

The suspect has been taken into custody for further interrogation, while the recovered items are being profiled as part of efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and supply networks in the region.

The military stated that the arrest underscored the sustained commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupting the movement of logistics and equipment used by terrorist elements across the North-West.

The military urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
