Troops Arrest Terrorist Kingpin, Ammunition Courier, Logistics Supplier In Kaduna

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin, an ammunition courier and a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations across Kaduna State.

The operations, conducted by troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, on September 9, 2026, also led to the recovery of 300 rounds of ammunition and four communication devices suspected to be used by terrorist elements.

The Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, made this known in a statement on Thursday night.

In the first operation, troops conducted a clearance operation in the early hours of the day at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that soldiers arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at the hideout.

The army stated that the suspects have been taken into military custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation, troops acting on credible intelligence about the movement of terrorist ammunition arrested a 50-year-old woman suspected to be an ammunition courier in Igabi Local Government Area.

The suspect was allegedly found carrying 300 rounds of ammunition concealed inside a bag.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorist elements operating in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.

She and the recovered ammunition have been taken into military custody as investigations continue.

It was reported that troops of Sector 1, working with a community vigilante group, apprehended another suspect accused of supplying logistics to terrorists in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorist operatives.

The suspect and recovered devices were also taken into military custody for further investigation.

The series of arrests and seizures represents another effort by Operation Fansan Yamma to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition, communication equipment and other logistics across the North-West.

The military said the operations demonstrate the commitment of its troops to denying terrorist and criminal elements freedom of action while dismantling their support networks.

The Joint Task Force commended members of the public for their continued cooperation with security agencies and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the nearest security formation.
