Nigerian troops have successfully repelled an attempted attack by armed bandits at Bulunku Zamzam Hotel in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The gunmen, who reportedly stormed the area behind NTA Samaru, were said to be heavily armed and attempted to infiltrate the premises before troops swiftly engaged them.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Friday, disclosed that the incident occurred on Thursday.
According to the post, the confrontation triggered a prolonged exchange of gunfire, forcing the assailants to retreat into nearby bushy areas.

The bandits were believed to have sustained gunshot injuries while escaping.
No casualties or abductions were recorded during the attack, due to the prompt response of the troops.
Security operatives have since intensified patrols and surveillance across the area to prevent a resurgence of criminal activity and to reassure residents and visitors of their safety.
