Troops Intercept Vehicle Supplying Logistics To Terrorists In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a vehicle allegedly conveying logistics supplies intended for Boko Haram along the Maiduguri–Mafa road in Borno State.

First Daily correspondent on Monday, gathered that the vehicle bearing registration number GZA 359 XA, was stopped during a routine checkpoint operation by troops of the 195 Battalion (Mechanised).

The interception took place near Maiduguri, a region that has remained a focal point in Nigeria’s ongoing counterinsurgency efforts.

Our correspondent reports that a detailed search of the vehicle uncovered a cache of items suspected to be logistical supplies for insurgents.

Items recovered include cartons of assorted medical drugs, motorcycle tubes, and brand-new motorcycle tyres concealed in sacks.

Troops also recovered mosquito nets, rolls of mats, cartons of air brake cylinders designed for heavy-duty trucks, and several cartons of detergent.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the goods lacked proper clearance documentation and were being transported toward Kusuri, a border community along a route leading to Chad—an area often linked to cross-border movements by insurgent groups.

The military stated that all efforts to trace the owners of the items proved abortive.

The military added that the vehicle, recovered materials, and the civilian drivers involved would be handed over to the appropriate military intelligence unit for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The interception highlights ongoing efforts by Nigerian troops to disrupt supply chains sustaining insurgent activities in the North-East.
