Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected associates of terrorists, including an alleged logistics vendor, during an intelligence-led operation in Mubi, Adamawa State.
Account to intelligence sources, on Saturday, the suspects, identified as Alhaji Adamu Abba, 39, and Abdulhamid Shamsudeen, 31, were arrested by troops of the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion in collaboration with a local hunters’ group.
The operation was conducted at Wurobululde in Mubi South Local Government Area following intelligence reports that a suspected terrorist associate was operating in the area under the guise of a businessman and Bureau de Change operator.
Abba, a Kanuri from Banki and resident in Tasha-Gella, Mubi South, was identified as the principal suspect.

During preliminary interrogation, he allegedly disclosed that he had worked with terrorists for about 10 years at a terrorist camp in Ndawori, Borno State, before leaving for Cameroon and later relocating to Mubi.
Troops recovered several items from the suspects during the operation.
Items recovered from Abba included an Infinix Android phone, a Tecno button phone, an Itel power bank, a motorcycle and ₦65,000 in cash.
The troops also recovered a Tecno Spark 8P mobile phone, an Itel power bank, ₦162,700 and 262,500 CFA francs from Shamsudeen.
The suspects are currently in military custody and undergoing further investigation to establish the extent of their alleged involvement in terrorist activities and logistics support.
The latest arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by security forces to identify and disrupt individuals and networks suspected of providing support, logistics and other forms of assistance to terrorist elements operating across the North-East.
