Troops have rescued several victims after armed bandits attacked Idijiyi Unguwan Danladi Village in Kallah District, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama on Tuesday, the assailants invaded the community, shooting sporadically and abducting an unspecified number of residents.
A swift response by a Nigerian Army strike force led to the rescue of some victims, who were later found near Agwallan Centre with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
The deceased, identified as Agnes Zafaniya, 28, from Afogo Village, was confirmed dead by medical personnel and her remains have been released to her family.

Two of the rescued victims—Augustine Madara, 31, and Zafaniya Alhaji, 42—are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Security sources said troops have intensified search operations to locate additional victims and track down the attackers.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
