The Nigerian Army troops of 3 Division of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a have rescued four abducted victims and neutralised a kidnapper during an ambush operation in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Saturday, the operation followed intelligence on the abduction of four persons at Rimi village in Jere District of Bassa LGA.
It was gathered that on Friday, troops of Sector 1 were deployed from Jingre and laid an ambush along the suspected withdrawal route of the kidnappers.
During the operation, the troops made contact with the kidnappers and exchanged fire, forcing them to abandon the four victims and flee.
