Trump Reshapes National Security Team Following Explosive Signal Chat Leak

Despite the storm brewing over leaked text messages from a Signal group chat detailing the Yemen strike, U.S. President Donald Trump remains unwavering in his trust in his national security team.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reaffirmed this stance on the 26th of March, 2025 making it clear that Trump’s confidence in his advisors remains intact.

“What I can say definitively is what I just spoke to the president about, and he continues to have confidence in his national security team,” Leavitt told reporters gathered in the White House briefing room.

Her statement came in response to growing speculation about potential dismissals following the exposure of classified discussions in the private messaging group.

When pressed on whether Trump felt misled by those who assured him there was no sensitive information in the chat, Leavitt remained firm:

“I have given you my answer. The president feels the same today as he did yesterday.”

This development comes less than a day after Trump’s National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz, took full responsibility for the incident.

Waltz, appearing on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on the 25th of March, 2025, admitted to inviting a reporter into the Signal chat, where high-level officials were discussing the impending strike on the Houthis in Yemen.

Describing the situation as “embarrassing,” Waltz acknowledged the gravity of the misstep, yet Trump’s unwavering support for his security team suggests he sees no reason for immediate action against those involved.
