President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to China, saying the United States would impose heavy tariffs on Chinese imports if Beijing offers military assistance to Iran amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Speaking during an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo,” Trump stated that any such move by China would attract severe economic consequences.
“If we catch them doing that, they get a 50 per cent tariff, which is a staggering—that’s a staggering amount,” he said.

The remarks come ahead of a planned trip by the US president to Beijing next month, where he is expected to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The visit follows the postponement of an earlier summit, which was delayed due to the ongoing war involving Iran.
