The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Taminu Turaki has confirmed that it has formally issued certificates of expulsion to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, and several other party members earlier expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
Turaki disclosed this while addressing journalists at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, December 2.
He said the certificates had already been dispatched to the affected members through courier services.
First Daily reports that the party had earlier announced the expulsion of Wike, Fayose, and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, along with eight others, accusing them of undermining the unity of the PDP through lawsuits and actions viewed as contrary to its interests.
In addition to the expulsions, the Turaki-led PDP also dissolved party structures in Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states, all strongholds of key figures recently sanctioned.

Turaki said the decisions were made collectively by party organs after exhaustive reviews of the affected persons’ conduct.
According to him, the move was necessary to protect PDP values and restore discipline within the party’s ranks.
“Those expelled have engaged in activities that sought to weaken the platform they claimed to represent.
“The party will now focus on rebuilding and uniting faithful members ahead of future elections,” he added.
The development marks the latest escalation in the PDP’s internal crisis between entrenched factions aligned with different power blocs as the party struggles to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 polls.
