Real Housewives of Potomac star Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud, false reporting, and theft in Carroll County, Maryland.
According to a report released by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests took place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, following months of investigation into a reported home burglary filed by the couple in April 2024.
Authorities allege that the couple submitted multiple fraudulent insurance claims worth over $450,000, citing luxury jewelry, handbags, and designer items purportedly stolen during the alleged burglary at their Maryland residence.
However, detectives later discovered that several of the items listed as stolen had been returned to stores or were seen in the couple’s possession after the burglary report was filed.
The Sheriff’s Office said Dr. Osefo faces 16 charges, including nine felony counts of providing false or misleading information exceeding $300 and one misdemeanor count of making a false statement to law enforcement.
Her husband, Eddie, faces 18 charges, including nine felony counts related to theft and insurance fraud.
Investigators also revealed several inconsistencies in the couple’s claims.
• More than $20,000 worth of “stolen” goods were traced to retail return transactions predating the burglary.
• Photographs on social media showed Dr. Osefo wearing jewelry previously declared stolen.
• Email evidence reportedly indicated that Eddie sent Wendy a list of items to include in the insurance claim, allegedly suggesting they add more items to “reach the policy limit.”
• During a search of the couple’s home, authorities recovered at least 15 luxury items that matched those listed in the insurance claim.
Officials said the couple filed at least three separate claims with different insurance providers, without disclosing that duplicate reports were being made or that some items had been refunded.
Following their arrest, both were booked into the Carroll County Detention Center and later released after posting $50,000 bail each.

She joined The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2020 and has since become one of the show’s central figures.
Her husband, Eddie, is a licensed attorney and co-founder of Happy Eddie, a lifestyle and cannabis brand.
Neither Wendy nor Eddie has made a public statement regarding the charges as of press time.

The case has sparked widespread media attention, with fans of the Real Housewives franchise expressing shock across social platforms.
