Peter Obi Hails Super Eagles’ Victory Over Lesotho, Urges Focus on World Cup

Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their crucial victory against Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.

In a post shared via his official X handle on Friday, Obi commended the national team for reigniting hope among millions of Nigerians with their performance, describing the win as “well-deserved” and “crucial.”

“I wholeheartedly congratulate our Super Eagles on their well-deserved crucial victory against Lesotho. You have, by this very vital victory, once again lifted the hopes of millions of Nigerians who are looking forward to your participating in the great mundial in 2026,” Obi wrote.

The former Anambra State governor expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure qualification as they prepare for their final group match against the Benin Republic.
