At least two people have been confirmed dead while several others sustained injuries after a commercial mini bus caught fire in the Mile 2 area of Lagos on Tuesday.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed the incident in a video shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
According to the agency, the fire outbreak occurred around Ballet, Mile 2, involving a yellow commercial mini bus.
LASTMA stated that two casualties were recorded, while other passengers who suffered burns are currently receiving medical attention.

“Fire incident at Ballet, Mile 2, a yellow mini bus caught fire with two casualties and burnt passengers receiving attention,” the agency wrote.
Emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene to manage traffic and assist victims, while the cause of the fire has yet to be officially confirmed.
Authorities have urged motorists and commercial drivers to regularly maintain their vehicles to prevent similar tragedies, as investigations into the incident continue.
