Uriel Oputa Criticises BBL Trend, Urges Women to Prioritise Intellect

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Uriel Oputa has sparked fresh debate on social media after sharing a pointed commentary on beauty trends and women’s priorities. In a series of posts shared via her Instagram story on Tuesday, the reality TV star said many young women were excessively focused on cosmetic enhancements rather than building their intellectual capacity.

“With all due respect, many of these beautiful girls undergoing rib-reconstruction surgery clearly have their priorities mixed up,” she wrote, adding that some of the same women “can’t even spell intellectual adaptation.”

Uriel urged young women to broaden their ambitions beyond physical appearance, stressing that true confidence and success require mental development.

“May 2026 be the year of truly levelling up mentally. A boss lady is not just about looks. Be that untouchable girl: intelligent and eye candy,” she said.

She also weighed in on what she described as the growing dissatisfaction in modern relationships, arguing that the dating landscape suffers when women rely solely on physical appeal.

“No wonder the dating scene is a mess,” she added. “They don’t respect us or take us seriously, especially if all we have to offer is our bodies.”

Uriel’s remarks have since ignited conversations online about body standards, empowerment, and the pressures placed on young women in contemporary social culture.
