The United States has provided critical military supplies to Nigeria, reinforcing the country’s ongoing efforts to tackle security challenges across the federation.
The delivery, confirmed by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, took place in Abuja and reflects the continuing security partnership between the two nations.
“U.S. forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership,” AFRICOM stated, tagging the United States Mission in Nigeria (@USinNigeria).
This latest support comes amid intensified collaboration between Nigeria and international partners to strengthen capacity in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
Recall that in November 2025, the Nigerian presidency under Bola Tinubu requested additional U.S. military assistance, leading to coordinated airstrikes targeting terrorist positions in the North West.
The Federal Government confirmed that intelligence sharing, strategic coordination, and other support measures continue to form the backbone of Nigeria’s partnership with the United States.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that all operations respect Nigeria’s sovereignty while advancing shared security goals.
U.S. Congressman Riley Moore praised the airstrikes and military cooperation, describing them as “a decisive move to protect Christian communities and tackle the ongoing security crisis in the country.”
Officials say the partnership is part of a broader strategy to enhance Nigeria’s operational capabilities against insurgency, terrorism, and violent extremism, reinforcing regional stability.
