US Rapper Kodak Black Arrested In Fresh Drug Trafficking Case

American rapper Kodak Black has been arrested in Florida over a fresh felony drug trafficking allegation tied to an ongoing criminal investigation.

The rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was taken into custody by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and booked into the Orange County Jail on a charge involving the alleged trafficking of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy or molly.

Authorities said the arrest followed an investigation launched in November 2025 after reports of gunfire near Children’s Safety Village in Orlando. Detectives reportedly linked the rapper to the case during the course of the probe.

Jail records showed the 28-year-old was being held without bond pending a court appearance scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026.

His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, described the arrest as a “coordinated surrender,” saying the rapper voluntarily turned himself in to authorities handling the investigation.

The latest arrest adds to the rapper’s long history of legal troubles.

In July 2022, Kodak Black faced separate oxycodone trafficking allegations after police reportedly recovered prescription pills and large sums of cash during a traffic stop in Florida.

In December 2023, he was again arrested on charges linked to cocaine possession and evidence tampering.

Despite repeated legal controversies, the Florida-born rapper remains one of the most recognisable figures in American hip-hop, rising to prominence with hit songs such as “No Flockin” and “Super Gremlin.”

He previously served federal prison time on firearms-related charges before receiving a presidential commutation in January 2021.
