Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has declared that traditional party structures in Rivers State have effectively given way to a broad political alliance united behind President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Wike made the assertion on Wednesday while addressing political stakeholders at an event in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
He said political actors across party lines have aligned under what he described as a “rainbow coalition” operating within the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration.
According to the former Rivers State governor, the coalition represents a deliberate shift away from rigid party politics toward a collective movement aimed at securing political influence and developmental gains for the state.
“In Rivers State today, there is no political party again. What we have is the Renewed Hope family — a rainbow coalition,” Wike said. “If you are not part of this family, then forget it. After delivering President Tinubu, this family will produce everything in the state — from the governorship to the House of Assembly.”
Wike argued that Rivers people are already reaping the rewards of backing Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, assuring supporters that the benefits would become even more evident in the coming year.

“This year will be better than last year,” he told the gathering.
The FCT minister expressed gratitude to community leaders and residents of Asari-Toru for what he described as their courageous support for Tinubu during the last election, noting that the political gamble had begun to pay off.
“Continue on this path and you will continue to see results. I assure you, I will stand with you at the right time,” he said.
Wike has, in recent weeks, intensified his political engagements across several local government areas in Rivers State.
During these visits, he has made veiled but pointed remarks that have been widely interpreted as opposition to the re-election bid of the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, further signalling a deepening political realignment within the state.
