Lagos State authorities have sealed Yakoyo Abula Joint on Sinari Daranijo Street, Victoria Island, following an alleged attack on government officials during a routine inspection.
The operation, carried out on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, was part of the state’s ongoing enforcement of environmental and sanitation regulations.
Officers from the state’s environmental and sanitation agencies had visited the restaurant to investigate reports of untreated wastewater and grease being discharged into public drains.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said that personnel from the restaurant attacked the officials, injuring four people.
Authorities added that the restaurant had attempted to break an earlier seal before the assault.

The restaurant’s supervisor was taken into custody, and the premises remain closed pending further investigation.
Officials warned that anyone who obstructs, threatens, or assaults government officers will face strict legal consequences.
The closure emphasizes Lagos State’s commitment to upholding environmental laws and protecting public safety.
