The Yewa (Egbado) College Old Students Association (YECOSA) on Monday announced a N20 billion endowment fund aimed at transforming the school and improving learning standards for current and future students.
Addressing journalists in Lagos, YECOSA National President, Dasaolu Oladimeji, said the fund would upgrade the college into a world-class institution capable of serving generations to come. He described the initiative as “an ambitious but necessary commitment to the future of education” at the institution.
The endowment fund set to be launched during the school’s 75th anniversary celebration, scheduled from February 6 to 15, 2026. Oladimeji highlighted that the fund would support several legacy projects, including the rebuilding of the school hall, construction of a digital center, scholarships for indigent students, and upgrading the school’s road network.
Other planned projects include the construction of Founders Tower, rehabilitation of the school chapel and principal’s house, building a chaplain house, creating Founders Garden, acquiring two additional school buses, and establishing a language laboratory and music and art studio.

“This is not merely a fundraising initiative—it is a transformational blueprint. This Endowment Fund is our promise to the next 75 years,” Oladimeji said.
He added that the launch seeks partnerships with governments, corporations, foundations, philanthropists, and alumni worldwide to position Yewa (Egbado) College as a reference point for innovation, excellence, and national development.
“Education is the foundation of every great society. We are asking Nigerians everywhere—individuals, corporate leaders, policymakers, philanthropists, and friends—to join hands with YECOSA in building an institution that will shape the next generation of scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and global leaders,” he said.
Oladimeji concluded with a call for national support: “Invest in education today, impact the nation forever.”
