Yusuf Okays Fresh Appointments, Promotions In Kano

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved a fresh round of appointments and promotions across key government agencies, aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery in the state.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi (Alhajiji) has been appointed as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs in the Office of the Executive Governor. Kankarofi was previously the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol I to the governor.

Also appointed is Aisha Tamburawa as Special Adviser to the Governor on Positive Propaganda. She earlier served as a Supervisory Councillor in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.

In the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency, Mukhtar Yusuf was promoted from Deputy Managing Director to Managing Director, while Zakari Usman Balan was appointed as the new Deputy Managing Director.

The governor further approved the appointment of Mukhtar Bello Maisudan, a senior lecturer at Bayero University, Kano, as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board.

Similarly, Abba Kankarofi was promoted from Deputy Managing Director to Managing Director of the Kano Road and Maintenance Agency.

Musayyib Kawu Ungoggo was appointed as Managing Director of the Kano Zoological Garden. Prior to his appointment, Ungoggo had served in various political capacities, including as a councillor and Senior Special Reporter.

Dawakin Tofa said the appointments and promotions were part of ongoing efforts by the administration to reposition key institutions for greater efficiency, accountability and effective service delivery.

Governor Yusuf charged the newly appointed and promoted officials to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, transparency and commitment to the people of the state.

He urged them to view their new responsibilities as a call to diligent service and to contribute meaningfully to the success of the Kano First Agenda.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening public institutions and delivering people-oriented governance across Kano State.
