Fifteen people have been rescued and evacuated to Kura General Hospital for medical treatment following a road crash involving a DAF trailer along the Kano-Zaria Road.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 23, 2026, around Gadan Yankifi, temporarily obstructing traffic on the busy highway.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano Sector Command, said the crash was reported at about 5:00 a.m., with its rescue team arriving at the scene approximately five minutes after receiving the distress call.
The Sector Public Education Officer, CRC AA Labaran, said no fatality was recorded in the incident.
“No death was recorded in the crash, while a total of 15 persons were rescued and evacuated to Kura General Hospital for medical attention,” Labaran said.

Following the accident, the Sector Commander, CC IM Lawal, directed the deployment of the Corps’ tow truck to the scene to assist in removing the damaged vehicle and clearing the obstruction.
The move was aimed at restoring normal traffic flow along the affected section of the Kano-Zaria highway.
The FRSC urged motorists travelling on the route to exercise caution, reduce their speed when approaching the affected area and comply with traffic regulations.
Labaran also appealed to motorists to cooperate with FRSC personnel and other emergency responders as efforts continued to completely clear the road and restore normal traffic movement.
